This is one of the best filmed peices of footage of The Monkees playing as a unit on one of my favorite Michael Nesmith penned tunes with Nez on vocals! Yes they were a REAL band to all the critics and Monkee naysayers!!

Wow! I really was a young person ages ago! They really were Professional musicians. I miss seeing their expensive Gretch Guitars especially Mike's 335 style 12 string electric guitar.

I was at this show and it was wonderful, though bittersweet, without Davy there. 😞 Too bad "Don't Call On Me" was not on the playlist for this show. One person in the audience even shouted to play that memorable song. I would have LOVED to have heard it instead of more songs from "Head" that were featured.

I don’t know if he really means it when he says he doesn’t understand the song that he wrote or why he decides to make fun of it. I’m sorry if he didn’t like his song. We love his song and we understand it. Always have and always will.

Very nice! I have always loved this song. One of my favorites. Peter's organ playing on this song is really AMAZING and noteworthy. It elevates the song to a whole other level.

amazing video and sound quality- and most of all- amazing band. They took more undeserved abuse from the “rock press” than any band ever- yet 50-75% (or more) consisted of their compositions in the last 10 years(those are the years I kept track).

He should've been playing lead guitar for those guys from the very start with Michael maybe on base, Davy on drums and Micky on rhythm guitar or alternating with Davy on drums. (MIchael could take over lead on some of the songs so that Peter could go to keyboards...etc. Their arrangement as a group was skewed weirdly from the start and compromised their live performances...But, oh well. What's done is done.)
